Mommy's Haven welcomes women, ages 18 and over, who are pregnant and have nowhere to turn. We offer single pregnant women, with no means of support, the opportunity to choose life for their unborn baby. God has called us to respond to this need by providing a safe, free-of-charge, home to all women who are feeling helpless and hopeless while facing an unplanned pregnancy. We never discriminate in providing services due to race, color, national origin, or religious preference. All we ask, is for a positive attitude and the desire for change, in order to be admitted to our home. Our faith-based program is an 18-24 month independent living program with excellent program services that allow each resident and their child(ren) to recognize their self-worth and prepare them to reach their full potential. Our future home will be located in Lake County, Indiana.

Crown Point 1937-38. A rare 16mm film was found and restored to show an hour and half of film of Crown Point residents, schools, and businesses. The restored film is remarkably clear. The film was made by an Ohio firm as a fund raising project for the Tri-Kappa Sorority. The movie was filmed just 3 years after the escape of John Dillinger and 3 years before America’s entrance into World War II. The printed program names hundreds of CP residents and business and will be copied for you to read. When the film was restored a sound tract was added with some period music and narration. When people were photographed they were told to “move” instead of standing perfectly still. There were no televisions, no home movies and people had never viewed themselves in a moving picture. |

Congressman Pete Visclosky proudly serves as Indiana’s First Congressional District Representative in our nation’s capital. Pete has always fought for Northwest Indiana’s domestic steel industry, recognizing its importance to each of our communities and to our overall economy. To build on our domestic manufacturing base, Congressman Visclosky has been an unwavering advocate for investing in Northwest Indiana’s infrastructure and opening up access to our lakeshore. Pete has tirelessly supported the Gary/Chicago Airport and the recapitalization and expansion of the South Shore Rail Line. He has also been instrumental in seeing successful improvements to our water-related infrastructure and our Lake Michigan shoreline through the Marquette Plan. |
